The 7-Day Mikumi, Udzungwa, and Ruaha National Park safari offers an exceptional adventure through some of Tanzania’s most stunning and less-visited wildlife areas. Starting with Mikumi National Park, this destination is renowned for its open plains, large herds of elephants, and abundant wildlife, including lions, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. The park is often referred to as Tanzania’s “hidden gem” due to its accessibility and the relatively fewer crowds, offering a more intimate and serene safari experience.
Next, you’ll venture to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, a lush and biodiverse paradise. Known for its steep mountain landscapes, rich tropical rainforests, and endemic species, Udzungwa is a haven for hikers and birdwatchers. The park is home to a number of rare primates, including the endangered Sanje mangabey, and is a prime location for spotting unique flora and fauna. Trekking through the park’s diverse terrain allows for up-close views of waterfalls, stunning viewpoints, and a true immersion in nature’s untouched beauty.

Tour Plan
Arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport:
Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), you will be welcomed by a representative from your safari company or tour guide. They will assist you with immigration procedures, luggage handling, and provide you with any necessary information regarding your trip. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Dar es Salaam.
Hotel Check-in & Rest:
After the transfer, you will check in to your hotel and have the remainder of the day to rest and relax after your flight. The hotel will offer you an opportunity to unwind, freshen up, and enjoy its amenities. If you're feeling up for it, you can take a walk around the hotel area or enjoy the serene surroundings.
Optional Afternoon Activity:
If you have some free time and energy, you may want to explore Dar es Salaam. You can visit the National Museum, which showcases the country's rich history, or take a leisurely walk along the coastline, where you can enjoy the ocean breeze. Alternatively, you could visit the Kariakoo Market, a lively hub where you can experience local culture and shop for unique Tanzanian goods.
Wake up early and have breakfast. You will meet our cheerfully guide that will drive you to Mikumi National Park that will take about 5 to 6 hours. Upon the arrival, you will check in at the park and begin you game drive. In the afternoon, you will have your picnic lunch then proceed
with the game drive until evening. You will then check out from the park then transferred to lodge for an overnight and dinner.

After breakfast, you'll embark on a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, which features expansive plains ideal for spotting a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalos, impalas, and zebras. Lunch will be served at the park’s picnic campsites. In the evening, you'll visit a Maasai village (boma) before returning to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will be picked up from the hotel, have breakfast, and then depart for Ruaha National Park, a journey of approximately 5 hours, followed by lunch upon arrival. The afternoon to evening will be spent on a game drive, where you'll explore the park's abundant wildlife, supported by the Great Ruaha River, a crucial water source. Despite being one of Tanzania's largest national parks, Ruaha is relatively uncrowded, offering a remote and exclusive safari experience.
Accommodation: Ruaha Hilltop Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
This full-day safari in Ruaha National Park will focus on exploring the areas around the Great Ruaha River, Mwagusi Sand River, and Mdonya River. You'll enjoy lunch in a remote location before continuing to observe a diverse array of wildlife, including buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, antelopes, and colorful birds, along with unique plant life. The day will conclude with a beautiful sunset in the East African Great Rift Valley, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge

After an early breakfast at 6 AM, you'll drive to the park for check-in and a game drive starting at 6:30 AM. At 1 PM, you'll break for lunch at the park picnic site. Following lunch, you'll drive to Mikumi and check in at camp for dinner and an overnight stay

After breakfast, you'll transfer to Uduzungwa Mountains National Park, a 45-minute drive away. Upon checking in at the gate, you'll embark on a 3 to 4-hour trek through the lush forest to the Sanje waterfalls. Along the way, you'll encounter monkeys, including the rare Iringa red Colobus, and ancient trees up to 200 years old. After exploring the tropical forests until evening, you'll transfer back to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you'll embark on a 5–6-hour drive to Dar es Salaam, passing through familiar landscapes and vibrant villages. There will be a lunch stop along the way before continuing to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, our representative will assist you with the ferry, airport, or hotel arrangements. The adventure concludes here, but there’s much more to explore and enjoy in Tanzania, and we look forward to welcoming you for your next adventure.
